Need people, lets go!

In order to ensure the completion of The Savage Empire Remake, I need people to draw frames for creatures & NPC's, and any other assets that may possibly be included. Coders are needed to created scripts for animations and interactions. If I had people that could test stuff out for me, I could keep focusing on drawing new assets.

This is a clarion call for aid.

Wizardry, if you read this, I have assets that you may want to use for your project. Shields, weapons, trees, etc. I have been drawing things that come to mind aside from the S.E Remake. I have rendered one of the shields for wall hanging and possible npc use, and can work on the others.

We all need to help each other out. The forums have been... sleepy as of late. EA is remaking Ultima in its own image. Richard Garriott is creating New Britannia. It is up to the classic community to make sure that the classics remain playable and that new classic-inspired content keeps happening.

We can do it, people!

Yeah, sorry I'm not getting on the ball with the usecode. I've had a bit of a busy time the last couple months, but I DID download the file you posted and I'll get to it as soon as I can.

Right, meant to say weeks, not months, there...

Sounds good, thanks!

Hopefully an animator/artist or two jumps on board so I can provide frame 16 of certain characters/creatures.

I might be able to help out a bit with the art too. At the least I could get you some roughed out images that you can tweak.

Click here for an example of the Solar Winds stuff I did a few months back.

It'll be sporadic though... still busy with real life for a while yet. :)

Okay seriously?

Click here for an example of the Solar Winds stuff I did a few months back.

And, just in case, here's the url in plain text: http://www.dosgamesonline.com/screensho ... rwinds.gif

I'm still available for help. After a busy summer I'm managing to get back on track with my free-time projects, which includes my artwork for Ultima 7.

Let me know if you need any help with usecode stuff, I'm getting pretty good at it.

Thank you for your offers to help. Things are still quite busy to the point that I have little time to play games, let alone draw graphics. However, I have been doing a pixel sketch or two here & there & still constantly think about the project & ways to draw axiometric graphics.

Crowley, if you have the time, any npc/creature frames you could draw would be great! I have posted frame 16 of certain npcs & creatures here & they are also on Aiera.

agentorangeguy, any help at all with usecode would be much appreciated! I have zero knowledge on how to even go about using it at all. I am seeking knowledge on each step to, for example, apply a script to a light source so that when used, it will change to animated frames. I have many objects that are interactive, though I do not know how to go about making them usable by a player.

I think I should be able to do that. I'm getting pretty good at making objects useable. Email me the shape and all frames, and I'll write you a script for it. email is my screenname at yahoo.

Just to make sure, do these threads have some of the graphics you spoke of?

I also searched around Aiera, but couldn't find anything. Maybe I didn't go far back enough.

agentorangeguy, I will go through my master completed .png and sent you a couple of things.

Crowley, yes, both of those threads have npcs and creatures that need animated. I will probably do the finishing work on the avatar, though any of the other ones would be great!

Thank you both. I also appreciate the community's patience with my busy schedule. I just took on a 2nd part time job!

Hey, we're still into a game that's almost twenty years old. We can be patient.

I have to import and then create the shape file. When I complete drawing something, I add it to a huge 1500x6000 pixel canvas in order to sort of keep track of things. When I import something into Exult Studio, I have to create each frame by copying/pasting/resizing/importing/export-to-shape-file.

Are you sure you posted that into the right place? Seems a bit random in relation to the previous things said in this thread. Still, it is interesting to hear how other people work on similar things. I have big canvas images for my Exult graphics projects as well.

Yeah, I meant to post it in here. Before I send anyone any shapes I have to create some of them, so I was just explaining the process. Most of the stuff that looks like it is in U7 are objects that I have imported into E.S. Screen shots like the Avatar's house mockup are made from copying & pasting into another file but have yet to be imported as frames into a new shape.

Having a large canvas does seem to be the best way. Before, I had so many .png files that it began to get unorganized & ridiculous!

Before I send the lamp shape to agentorangeguy, I have to make sure that I am finished tweaking it from the master file, import it into E.S., look at it in-game, export to a shape file, then finally send it off.
